More Is Not Better, Week 3

Luke 14:28-30

I. FOR THOSE WHO MANAGE FINANCES WELL:

We can find joy in a simplified life if we are rich towards God.

This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God. Luke 12:16-21

We can have rich blessings from God if we don’t make idols  of your possessions.

For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Ephesians 5:5

Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to   share with others. 1 Timothy 6:18

• rich in good works   • generous to the needy   • share with others

C. We can build     a foundation for eternity if build up treasures in heaven.

By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life. 1 Timothy 6:19

Jesus said, “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20

II. For Those who Do Not Manage Well:

II. For Those who Do Not Manage Well:

We can miss enjoying life if you don’t give purposeful attention to what God has entrusted to us.

But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? Luke 14:28

We can miss blessings until we correct the causes of your mismanagement.

Laziness   (A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies ends up in poverty. Proverbs 28:19)

The “more is better” Life-style     (The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get.   Proverbs 21:20)

Lack of financial  Planning      (Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. Proverbs 21:5)

• Give purposeful attention to what God has entrusted to you.

• Correct the causes of mismanagement

THE 10-10-80 PLAN

10% TO Honor God    FIRST & RECEIVE HIS SPIRITUAL BLESSING

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Malachi 3:10

10% to Invest    In your financial future

80% to ENJOY    The Good things that God Gives You

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.                 1 Timothy 6:17
